POPPY-JANE TODD

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Tamborine Mountain Dance Academy.

I started ballet at TMDA when I was two years old and soon fell in love with the artform, begging my mum to enrol me in jazz, tap, contemporary and every style available! In the following years, I trained in these styles to the point of the advanced level of the Australian Teachers of Dancing (ATOD) syllabus in Jazz and Tap, and represented TMDA in numerous eisteddfods as well summer schools at the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet.

Though it was never my intention to pursue dance professionally, I have always been passionate about the artform as a means of creative expression, and now adore choreographing and teaching just as much as dancing itself. To this end, I have been hired by several production companies on the Gold Coast to choreograph for their musical and dance productions.

Having lived on Tamborine Mountain for my whole life, I have so much love for the vibrant and creative Mountain community. I am eager to find ways to connect the dance school with other mountain groups through performance and community engagement.

Aside from dance, I am also a Ramsay Scholar at the University of Queensland and am currently studying a double degree in Law and Western Civilisation.
